Friends: Folks who have performed with us on a
regular basis and folks who substitute when one of us has a conflict: JANET ROSEN, Oboe Janet received her B.S. in Mus. from West Chester State College, and M.Mus. form the Hartt School of Music (University of Hartford) where she was a Concerto Competition winner and student of Humbert Lucarelli.Janet performs with a number of Connecticut groups. She is principal oboist of the Meriden Symphony, founding member of Trio Con Brio. Janet has performed with the Riverfest Festival Orchestra, New Haven Symphony, Waterbury Symphony, Hartford Symphony Orchestra, Rome Festival Orchestra, Greater Bridgeport Symphony, Hamden Wind Symphony, etc. She was recognized in 1996 by the Cheshire League of Women Voters for her significant contribution to the Arts. Ms. Rosen is on the music faculty of the Wintergreen Interdistrict Magnet School in Hamden and teaches oboe privately in Cheshire. Due to scheduling conflicts with the Hartford Symphony Janet has become our principal substitute 2003 season prior to that Janet was a regular with BLACKLEDGE for several years.
David Hall -Oboe Oboist David Hall is well known to the region as a soloist and chamber musician. He received his schooling at the Peabody Conservatory of Music in Baltimore. He is currently principal oboist with the Farmington Valley Symphony Orchestra and the Litchfield Chamber Orchestra. He resides in Harwinton,CT with his wife and two daughters. (David performs regularly with BLACKLEDGE Woodwind Quintet in the 2001-2003 seasons). Daniel Ringuette -
Bassoon , is currently the Music Director for the Immaculate Sue Zoellner-Cross - Bassoon is assistant Principal with the New Haven Symphony and Orchestra New England. She has a B.M. from the Hartt School of Music and M.Mus from Yale University. She has appeared as a soloist with the Albany Symphony, Hartt Symphony, Orchestra New England. She is an administrator at the Neighborhood Music School in New Haven and on the faculty of the Choate School in Walllingford, CT. Tom Labradof - Clarinet Clarinetist Thomas Labadorf is a member of the United States Coast Guard Band in New London, CT and principal clarinetist with the New Britain Symphony and the Waterbury Symphony Orchestras. As soloist, he performed a variety of solo works with orchestras and bands by Bassi, Rossini, Debussy, Mozart, Aaron Copland, and Carl Maria von Weber as well as his own transcription for wind ensemble of Jorge Calandrelli's Concerto for Jazz Clarinet.You will find updates on Labadorf's performance schedule on the World Wide Web at: http://pages.cthome.net/labadorf. Mr. Labadorf is a founding member and former artistic director of Hop River Chamber Music Series in Andover, CT. He is presently on faculty at the Central Connecticut State University and Connecticut College in New London where he also performs frequently in faculty chamber recitals as a member of the Connecticut College Chamber Ensemble. Patty Lignelli - Clarinet Rachael Browning - Clarinet Ruth Cameron - Oboe after just recently returning to playing oboe after a long period, Ruth has subbed in for us at several performances in 2000. Christopher Frye - Horn currently performs with the Waterbury Symphony among other organizations. Chris has performed with Blackledge in 1999 and subs for us when needed. Christine Smith - Oboe - Graduated from the University of Hartford (Hartt School of Music) and received her Master's in Education. An original regular member of Blackledge, Christine performed with the group through July 1999 when she and her husband Neal Smith (Conductor/Composer) moved to Illinois. Stephanie Karpinski - Oboe a student at UCONN in Storrs, CT Stephanie filled in the important oboe position for Blackledge several times in 1998 & 1999. Virginia Eurich - Horn - performed with Blackledge from 1997 through 1998. She is an active performing member of the Thread City Brass. |
